The ring is made with raw Pyrope Garnet from Garnet Ridge, Arizona. These are referred to as "ant hill garnets" because most stones were carried to the surface by ants, then collected in the sand of ant hills.
The ring band is 1 mm thick and is sturdy although it looks very dainty on the finger.
